Peacemaker Tries Hard!

Now this was a really fun cover gig, one that was really unexpected for me.

I don’t have like a super big love for the character (I enjoyed the HBO series fine), but what really excited me about this is it didn’t seem like the normal kind of cover gig that I would normally be offered; I never really had a lot of gigs in my career where the point was to do something really fun and hyper masculine, so this was a great new challenge for me.

Got to really take a lot of inspiration from 80’s Action Movie posters like Conan the Barbarian, Cobra, Stone Cold, Alien Private Eye, Over the Top, and others. It was a nice little style departure for me which kept every cover fresh.

Getting to draw a bunch of cloned baby Deathstrokes was too good of an opportunity to miss, which was also a cover idea before I even did the first one once I read the outline for the whole series.

It was also wild how much of a lead time I had on this book, I think I finished the 4th cover before the first one was even solicited (usually you’re doing the cover one month before solicits), which allowed lot of air to experiment and take my time with these covers.
